There are a couple entries in for the trivia contest (but I'm not going to say whether or not they've got the right answers yet!) - seen above with Ebb is this year's "Free Comic Book Day" photocopied-and-stapled mini-comic, the prize for everyone who gets all the answers right but isn't the first one to post them. It's got a slightly revised version of one of the Third Planet visits. You've got until September 1st to post your answers and (maybe) win a copy!

So, about that "secret project" I mentioned a week or so ago... The first copies arrived the other day!



I started putting some files together for a Station V3 book last year - fortunately, the files survived a couple computer problems, and I got around to finishing the initial version of it ("A Prototype Space Pod Visits Station V3!") this month!

It's 100 pages - mostly a collection of strips from 2004, with a few earlier strips and also some new material. Before it goes on sale, there are a few things I'm going to add/change/delete - but you can win a copy of this version by being the first one to get all the answers right in the trivia quiz on the forum!

I've been working on a Top Secret Station V3 project the past few days. For today's voting bonuses, there's a picture up and a bonus strip from the project.

(So I guess these parts aren't exactly secret... but the rest of it is for now!)

Since a new strip goes up every day here, I try to work ahead to make sure I don't wind up doing each day's strip the night before. I don't work quite as far ahead as some people do, but I do at least have strips done into next week at this point. But sometimes I decide to completely redo a strip instead of putting the one I have done up, and today's strip was one of those. So I wound up doing it the night before.

The original version of today's strip won't go to waste - it's up here now as today's first bonus! And there's a sprite strip with another unlikely rumormonger up as the second one. Thanks for voting!

I was looking at some bandwidth usage charts for all the various things I have hosted here, and one thing has been consistent on the pie charts for the past year - Station V3's share always looks like Pac-Man.

For example:



The next biggest piece belongs to Z7, followed by the forum, and then the much smaller slivers for Ebb's Children, Silence in the Darkness on Q16, the main ComicOstrich page (which I should really get around to improving at some point), etc.

The site logs also reveal that last month the least-read strips in the archives were June 22 through June 27 of last year, there were more hits on the site from people using Firefox (46.2%) than Internet Explorer (38.6%), the countries with at least 1000 pages viewed were (in order) the US, Canada, Belgium, Spain, New Zealand, Germany, and the UK, and 83.2% of visitors would like to see a breakfast cereal with marshmallows shaped like the third planet.

(Obviously that last part can't be right... There is no third planet!)

Two more new voting bonuses up today: I rewrote today's strip after drawing it, and the original version is up as today's first bonus. The second is an animated sprite strip in which it is revealed that the Rumormonger version of a certain TV show will not be coming back this summer.
