The Rumormonger Idol results are up today in three new bonus strips! The winner is revealed, the winner gets his prize, and the loser has a few things to say! The poll on the forum went pretty much the same as the one on the poll site that died, so I guess these results are "official." :)

Two new sprite bonus strips up today - The Plant knows something's going on on the third planet, and the rumormongers are getting a little impatient for Rumormonger Idol results. Meanwhile, over at The Mansion of E today, there's a guest strip I drew for the 1,000th strip festivities!

Today is the the 1,000th official strip over at Robert Cook's daily comic The Mansion of E! If you haven't read them all already, then A) you're missing out! The Mansion of E is a fantasy strip dealing with the adventures of some humans (and lots of non-humans) in, under, and around an unusual mansion on the edge of a Specific Ocean. ...and B) today's a good day to catch up. :) Congratulations to Robert on 1,000 great strips!

When I switched to color for the daily strips a year ago, I said some of the strips in the archives would have color added later - and I did upload color strips for April 2004 and April 2005. I may have also replaced the black and white strips from the beginning of May 2005 to the 19th (apart from the guest week), but since moving Station V3 off ComicGenesis last October, those strips have been black and white.

To make a long story short (too late!), I've found the color strips on my hard drive, and the May 2005 daily strips (again, apart from the guest week) are now all in color. And I probably will get around to adding color to some more archive strips at some point. "When I get a chance." :)

Two sprite bonuses today - one of the rumormongers is concerned about the Plant's evil twin... and so is the Plant!

Well, the site where the Rumormonger Idol poll was is still down, hasn't been showing any signs of coming back, and apparently the domain name expired, so I guess I shouldn't hold my breath to see those results. Since there wasn't any clear winner yet last time I saw the poll (only a vote or two separated the two contestants), I've put up a new poll on the forum. One slight drawback to this is that now only registered forum members can vote - but then anyone can become a registered forum member, so maybe this will be a little membership drive, too. :)

Station V3 is three years old today! There will be some guest strips starting tomorrow to mark the occasion, and some sprite bonus strips today - a variation on the first strip, the Plant's version of it, and a rumormonger discussing the Plant's job. Thank You to everyone who's been voting, and Thank You to everyone who's been reading the strip for the past three years! :)

Today is also Free Comic Book Day! You might find some webcomic-related books - there's a ComicGenesis book, and a KeenSpot book. (And if you're in Scranton, there's also a chance you might find a photocopied & stapled Station V3 mini-comic!)

Two interesting bits of sci-fi news today... First, there's going to be a remake of The Prisoner, possibly with Christopher Eccleston (recently the 9th Doctor) as Number 6. Second, the original versions (or at least versions that aren't the special editions) of the original Star Wars trilogy are coming out on DVD.

In completely unrelated non-sci-fi news, the most recent 45 I got is a promo copy of a Dave Clark Five "Good Old Rock & Roll" medley. And since previous bonuses have established Ebb as a record collector, here's a bonus photo of him with it!

In today's bonus sprite strips, there's some discussion about how the Plant got rid of the invading monsters - Floyd discusses it with Linton and Prentis, and a rumormonger discusses it with the Plant!

The Rumormonger Idol results will be coming up in the next couple of days.

I was thinking of setting a new Windows background image (I have a tendency to leave default ones up for far too long), and it occurred to me that I've never made a Station V3 one. So I thought maybe with a little tweaking the second panel from this year's first strip could work as one...

Today's bonuses are two sprite strips with the continuing story of the monsters who came to take over the station - and security is on the job!

In April the astronomers from the Station Authority found the mysterious third planet in V3's system... And more of you visited (and read more of the archives) than in any previous month. I don't know if there's a connection there, but thanks for reading! I hope you're all enjoying the comic. (Tell a friend!)

It was also V3's best month in a while on the buzzComix (top 40) and TopWebcomics (top 50) lists. Pretty close to my Top 30/Top 40 goals! (Maybe I should set goals of Top 20/Top 30 if I want to hit Top 30/Top 40?) Of course, one could say that it was because I put up a new voting incentive every day of the month - and one could be right! But not this month, since I haven't put one up today. (But watch this space tomorrow! And if you missed any from last month, they're all in the bonus archive now.) Thank You to everyone who voted and helped get V3 up that high on the lists! From the site logs, it looks like a lot of the new visitors probably found the comic that way. (And some people found Station V3 by searching for something...)
