2007/05/31   Results?
You might wonder where the Rumormonger Idol results are... In today's first bonus, there are some guys wondering the same thing.

(And if you're not wondering that, there's still the second bonus, which is a bad translation of today's strip!)

Anyway, the answer is that the poll is still open, and still (sort of) tied! (And if it looks like it won't let you vote, it may be because you're not logged in, or not registered.)

2007/05/25   Predicting the winner?
In today's sprite bonus strip, one of the rumormongers is looking for a prediction on the winner of Rumormonger Idol.

(It may be a little early for a prediction, though... the poll is tied!)

2007/05/23   Final Round Voting
Today's bonus: the judges comment on the final round of Rumormonger Idol! (What did you think?)

And the final round poll is up, so now it's up to you who gets kicked off!

2007/05/22   Rumormonger Idol - Final Round!

Rumormonger Idol is down to the final contestants! (And strangely enough, neither one is an actual rumormonger...)

Vote today and see Contestant 2 and Contestant 4 giving it their best! (We hope!)

2007/05/20   Art, Music, Photography, that sort of thing

My digital camera isn't very good at taking pictures of people at a distance. The only zoom function it has is the digital "just take *part* of the picture" zoom, which results in the same low-quality picture I can get myself by just taking the picture and cutting out the part I want myself.

I noticed the (lack of) zoom problem a couple times this weekend - in one picture, the slightly out of focus and pixellated bit in the middle is Angela Kinsey and Brian Baumgartner (Angela and Kevin from The Office) at the Steamtown Mall. In another, it's Richie Havens at the Fine Arts Fiesta in Wilkes-Barre. In a third, it's Melanie, also at the Fine Arts Fiesta. And I suppose I should be happy I can tell them apart!

Okay, maybe not that bad, but not great, either. The Fine Arts Fiesta shows *sounded* good, anyway, which was really the point of going. (And the weather stayed nice, for the most part, so when Melanie was singing "Lay Down (Candles In The Rain)," it wasn't raining, which was good, since we didn't have an umbrella with us!)

Where the camera is at least adequate (any problems are most likely my fault, not the camera's) is in taking pictures of Ebb with 45s, such as the one above, which shows him with a slightly scratchy (but playable) spare copy of "Stand Tall" by Burton Cummings. The outer edge was traced for the planet in the first and last panels of today's comic, and the inner hole was traced for the plotter's pod after it landed in the third panel. (And all tracing was done carefully, so as not to damage the 45. It may be a spare, but I don't need it any scratchier!)

And finally, getting back to art, here's a painting my sister Elizabeth and her husband Jaime painted, scanned, and sent to me:

Next to the parked flying saucer, you can see Ebb (or one of his relatives) nicely lit by the sunset (or sunrise). (Click the picture to see it bigger!)

2007/05/19   A 4-update day
In addition to today's V3 strip, all three spinoffs have updated! Z7, Ebb's Children, and Silence in the Darkness on Q16 all have new strips today.

And if that's not enough, there are two new voting bonus sprite strips up today (here and here) in which Ebb, the Plant, and some rumormongers are looking forward (more or less) to the final round of Rumormonger Idol!

2007/05/17   Rumormonger Idol Round 4 results
Today's voting bonuses are the Round 4 results for Rumormonger Idol - the final two contestants are revealed! (Or, rather, the contestant who DOESN'T make it to the final round gets to figure it out. And he has some parting words!)

2007/05/16   Transcription Percentage
Station V3 is currently over 76% transcribed at Oh No Robot! If you'd like to help increase that number, you can click here to see a list of strips that need transcribing - or you can always read through the archives looking for strips with a "Transcribe this Comic" or "Improve Transcription" button below them! (And Thank You to everyone who's helped get over 1100 of these strips transcribed already!)

And if you'd like to help out Station V3, but don't feel like transcribing, there's always voting! Today's bonuses are a sprite strip dealing with photosynthesis, and a bad translation of today's strip.

2007/05/13   Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to any mothers who might be reading this!

There are two new bonuses today on the subject - a bonus strip in which two rumormongers discuss the day, and a sprite strip which might (or might not) have Morty's mother in it. Thanks for voting!

2007/05/12   Back to 'Normal'
Things get back to 'normal' today with today's strip - I hope you enjoyed the guest week! Thanks again to Robert Cook, R.M. (The Mortician), Roman Wunderlich, Animateusz, Lee Kane, Elizabeth Suarez, and Zeel!

2007/05/10   New bonuses/archive update
Two new sprite strip bonuses today: Who would be the better person to ask about Rumormonger Idol? Someone who got kicked off, or someone who didn't even get on?

The Bonus Archive has been updated, so if you've missed any of the previous voting bonuses, they should all be in there now!

2007/05/07   By Request! A new bonus
Today's first new voting bonus is (by request) what happens after the station gets hit by a fragment of the third planet! And the second bonus is a sprite strip with two rumormongers discussing why the Rumormonger Idol Round 4 results haven't come out yet. (Possibly because the poll is still open.) Thanks for voting!

2007/05/06   V3 is 4
Today is Station V3's fourth birthday.

And, not coincidentally, today is the start of guest strip week!

2007/05/05   Online Comics/Free Comic Book Day
Today is both Online Comics Day and Free Comic Book Day!

I did things for both occasions. You can see the Online Comics Day-themed Station V3 strip here (and there's also one for Z7) - for Free Comic Book Day, I made another photocopied-and-stapled Station V3 minicomic. This year's was mostly a condensed (and slightly modified) version of last year's visit to the third planet. (And could be found this afternoon in downtown Scranton's two comic book stores.)

2007/05/03   Comic Birthdays and Other Things
Last month was Z7's third birthday - and this month (coming up on the sixth) is V3's fourth! There will be guest strips next week to celebrate. (If you'd like to contribute one, there's still time to get it in!)

Also this month, there will be some voting bonuses besides the usual sprite strips, bad translations, and Rumormonger Idol - though of course you can expect to see all those too! For example, today there are pictures of the two characters from V3's system to attend the unreality conference (here and here) - but not in their usual colors.
