2007/03/29   Round 3 Poll
I didn't mention it here, but the Round 3 "who gets kicked off" poll went up Sunday night over on the forum - so if you didn't see it and haven't voted yet, you can do that now! :)

(Another thing I didn't mention - Monday's strip was strip #1400!)

Two new voting bonuses up today - a bad translation of today's strip, and a sprite strip featuring Contestant 6.

2007/03/23   Round 3 continued
Round 3 of Rumormonger Idol continues today, with Contestant 5 and Contestant 6 up as today's voting bonuses. The "who gets kicked off poll" will go up this weekend!

British Invasion week with Peter Noone and Lulu got me to watch the other Idol (the one on TV) this week, and it was actually pretty good. I don't know if a British Invasion week would work for Rumormonger Idol - though maybe they could talk about the rumor going around that the Dave Clark Five didn't get in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year because the votes were fixed... (They've denied it, but then I wouldn't really expect them to admit it!)

2007/03/18   Back to the Rumors

Round 3 of Rumormonger Idol starts today, with Contestant 2 up at buzzComix and Contestant 4 up at TopWebcomics today!

If you have any thoughts on how the contestants are doing, you can think them here!

2007/03/14   3.14
For a quick break from Rumormonger Idol, today's voting bonus is a Pi Day-related sketch!

2007/03/13   Took it long enough...
It had to happen eventually! My printer's black ink cartridge finally ran out of ink - it had been threatening to do that for over half a year. So I put in one of the replacements I bought last November.

For today's voting bonuses, something that didn't take quite as long as that: The Rumormonger Idol round 2 results! In the bonus strip at buzzComix, this round's loser is revealed - and he has some parting words in the bonus at TopWebcomics. (Of course, anyone who's seen the poll results on the forum already knows who's getting kicked off, so I COULD just tell you it's Contestant 3... but of course I wouldn't do that.) Thanks for voting!

2007/03/10   Round 2 voting ends today
If you haven't voted in the "who gets kicked off" poll for round 2 of Rumormonger Idol yet, you still have time to do it! Unless you're reading this tomorrow.

Today's bonuses: A bad translation of today's strip, and a sprite strip in which Contestant 6 continues to try to take over a rumormonger's hat.

2007/03/07   In the meantime, more bonuses
While we wait for the round 2 results to come in for Rumormonger Idol (if you haven't voted in the poll yet, there's still time), here are some more voting bonuses!

In the first one, Contestant 6 reveals to the sprite rumormongers why he ran out on the contest, and the second one is a bad translation of today's strip. Thanks for voting!

2007/03/04   Connectedness Continues at the Record Show

The record show today was a lot of fun - we got some interesting records and talked to some interesting people! Somehow, continuing the connectedness from yesterday, Kim Fowley got mentioned in one of the conversations, and I was even the one to bring him up! And we also saw a copy of the album "Bubble Gum" was from ("Outrageous"), but didn't buy it. $78 was a little more than I wanted to pay for it! Sort of a strange price, too... And speaking of 78, a few dealers also had 78s at the show. We didn't buy any of those, either. (I don't think I even have a turntable that spins at 78!) But we did buy several 45s, which can be seen with Ebb in the picture above.

Coincidentally, 45 is the position Station V3 got to on the buzzComix list last month! So for today first bonus, here's a Rumormonger Idol-related record that I certainly didn't buy at the show. (Let's see if we can get the 45 in the Top 40!) And today's second bonus is a judges' reaction to round 2. The "Who Gets Kicked Off" poll is now open on the forum, so if there's a contestant you like - vote for one of the other ones instead. :)

(And in case you were wondering what 45s are in the picture with Ebb, the ones standing up are the "4 - By the Beach Boys" EP, The Five Americans' "7:30 Guided Tour," and Herman's Hermits' "Dandy." The ones on top of the two piles are "Bo Diddley Bach" by the Kingsmen, and "Go Down Gamblin'" by Blood, Sweat, and Tears.)

2007/03/03   Random Connectedness

Today in Wilkes-Barre, I was reading a magazine that had an interview with Tim Thomerson. The interview didn't mention it, but Tim Thomerson played Gene/Jean in Quark. Douglas Fowley also appeared in Quark, as Dr. O.B. Mudd in the pilot episode. Douglas Fowley was Kim Fowley's father. Kim Fowley recorded (among other things) the 45 seen in the picture above with Ebb. ("Bubble Gum," which it doesn't sound like!) I got the 45 at a record show last year. In Wilkes-Barre.

(And there's another record show there tomorrow!)

  March along with V3
A new month is here, and so is the end of Round 2 for Rumormonger Idol! Vote for V3 today and see Contestant 6 bring the round to a somewhat unexpected conclusion - and the sprite rumormongers have a few thoughts on it. (Do you?)

Thanks for voting!
