More Bad Translations

Sunday, August 30th, 2015

There’s another badly translated strip to see today when you vote for Station V3 at TopWebcomics!

On a related note, I recently found a Dave Clark Five album that was released in Taiwan in 1968:

Not sure how “official” this release was – it has songs from their US albums 5 By 5, You Got What It Takes, and Everybody Knows, with the cover from You Got What It Takes. It was released on “Large World” records (which uses the logo from Liberty Records), which (from what I’ve read) released records for American and Australian servicemen stationed in Taiwan at the time.

What makes it related to the bad translation bonus strip I just posted is that the lyrics on the back cover look like they’ve been through a similar process:

In case you’re unfamiliar with the song, the song really starts with “Two little villages on their own, each lord taking care of his own.” And the word “pharmacy” does not actually appear in the song. Oh well, at least the orange vinyl looks nice! :)

Ten!

Station V3’s first strip went up ten years ago today!

There’ll be a few things to mark the occasion, including some guest strips next week. And today, all three spinoffs updated!

8-tracks!

Looks like one of the Rumormongers has found the collection of 8-tracks Unit 6 is looking for!

In case you were wondering – from top to bottom, they’re Two Sides Of The Moon by Keith Moon, The Beatles’ Second Album and A Hard Day’s Night, Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson, Deep Purple (aka Deep Purple III), America’s Greatest Hits, and the original soundtrack recording of Hair.

Vote for Station V3 at TopWebcomics and see the same picture – but bigger! :)

Changes to Time

Saturday, October 8th, 2011

Future events that happened in the past are catching up to Station V3’s system in the present! When will it happen? Maybe the Dukes of Stratosphear have the answer…

(And if they don’t, ask XTC!)

Meanwhile, in today’s/tomorrow’s/yesterday’s(?) new voting bonus, Ebb advises a rumormonger with a hat to watch out!
