Years In Review

My goals for Station V3 for the past few years have been pretty basic: 1. Keep updating. 2. Try to get more people to read it. 3. Keep having fun doing it.

So how did I do?

Goal 1: You can see on the archive calendar that the first goal was accomplished! Z7 and Silence in the Darkness on Q16 also kept updating on schedule, and even Ebb’s Children had a few new strips go up.

Goal 2: The site logs are telling me this one was accomplished! 2009 was a very busy year for Station V3 in terms of site traffic, and 2010 was even better. So a big Thank You to everyone who read the comic and/or helped spread the word!

Goal 3: If this one wasn’t accomplished, I wouldn’t be here telling you this! :)

The goals for 2011 are the same, but with “Get the second book finished already!” added. Also I’ll try to be a little more active in terms of updating the blog, putting up bonus strips, drawing guest strips for other comics, etc.

Some info from the 2010 site logs:

  • The top 5 browsers being used to visit the site are Firefox (47.2%), Internet Explorer (29.4%), Chrome (9.5%), Opera (7.1%), and Safari (3.7%).
  • Windows led the operating systems list at 86.7%, followed by Linux at 6% and Mac at 5.9%.
  • The top 10 countries with the most page views were the US, the UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, Poland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, and Romania.
  • The most visited archive page for the year was the first one. (No surprise there! That was also true in 2009. And I think every year before that.)
  • The top 3 most visited archive pages for new strips in 2010 were June 26, February 28, and March 13.

Again, thanks for reading in 2010, and I hope you enjoy what’s coming in 2011!

I didn’t think there were a lot of Dutch people reading this comic. I’ve never met another Dutchman who did. :(
But apperantly I should look harder.

There have to be at least a few others out there! (Unless you were reading an average of 765 pages a day here last year?)

Either way, thanks for reading! :)

Well, from a Mac & PC user using Safari & Firefox on Guam, I’d like to say thanks for the laughs. And yes, I will continue checking damn near everyday.

Heh, nice to see us Swedes made it to the top of the country list as well :)

Seeing as this comic is one of he most silly around at the moment I am bound to come back as often as possible :)

I visit multiple times daily… and have attempted to get people to read this. I don’t know if I have succeeded yet though. You can’t fault me for not trying though as my Messenger name is “This is a nice name we’re taking over”

It’s good to hear that you still enjoy doing it–that’s probably the hardest goal to keep up with.

It’s usually not too hard to keep enjoying it – It helps that other people are reading and enjoying it, and I want to see how the story goes too! :)

(Of course, ask me on a day when the strips in the buffer are running out and I’m not quite sure what’s happening in the next strip yet, and I might have a slightly different answer… But that hasn’t stopped me yet!)

I come here every day :) New rumormongers are great! I really like them.
I will try to get my country in this year’s top 😀

I read some 25 webcomics regularly, and V3 is definitely one of them, with its unique absurd humor that I think everyone wouldn’t understand though.

I was first directed to V3 only in 2010, through one of the ads with the monolith introduction strip. “What is it?” “It’s a monolith!” … “Well, that was exciting.” I read through the archives, and V3 really proved to be funny just in the manner I like.

And it’s nice yet somewhat surprising to see that I’m not the only Finn reading the comic.

Wrap-up: Keep up the good work dude!

    • Axonite says:

      Thanks! :)

I think you’re probably right that the humor in V3 isn’t for everyone, but the ads with the monolith have brought in a lot of new readers, many of whom have wound up reading through the archives and/or becoming regular readers.

To tell you the truth I found this site by accident, I was looking for sysadmin comics… found this, laughed and then proceeded to spend the entire of december reading every single one of them, and now it’s a daily hit for me (in fact you’ll probably see my IP address in the comment information and your stats list)… I’m obsessed with this place, and love it!

Thanks for creating a great, truly great comic!
