A Poll

In the conversation following the “Years in Review” post, people have mentioned trying to get other people to read Station V3, finding Station V3 through the “It’s a Monolith!” ad I’ve run for it (based on this strip) – so how did YOU first find Station V3?

(Edit – Poll closed! Thanks for your replies.)

How did you first find Station V3?

  • The “It’s a monolith!” ad (44%, 72 Votes)
  • Link from another comic (34%, 55 Votes)
  • Other (10%, 17 Votes)
  • An ad for V3 other than “It’s a monolith!” (6%, 10 Votes)
  • Link from a blog (2%, 4 Votes)
  • A comic voting site (like TopWebcomics) (2%, 3 Votes)
  • A comic listing site (like TheWebcomicList.com) (1%, 2 Votes)
  • Link from a forum (1%, 1 Votes)
  • Twitter/Myspace/Facebook/etc. (0%, 0 Votes)
  • Stumbleupon/Reddit/etc. (0%, 0 Votes)

Total Voters: 164

Speaking of option 9 in the poll, there’s a new voting bonus strip up today (first one of the year!) – A sprite strip in which reality’s gone a little funny.

And in other news, there’s a new episode of PodWarp 1999 up now, recorded earlier this week!

It was Draw it Until it’s funny.

I sort of miss the option “Can’t remember. I feel as if I’ve been here all my life.”

But I’m 65% sure it was a link from some other comic.

  3. Caius says:

I think it was an add… But really, I’m not sure. Might have been an add at another comic.

  4. macsnafu says:

As I recall, it was the ad where Linton is pushing a button that he shouldn’t push. It seemed like a hilarious setup for something or other.

However, I must admit that the “It’s a Monolith” ad was a great one, and probably would have drawn me in if I hadn’t already been reading the strip.

  5. Kinto_M says:

I found V3 via the “random article” button on Wikipedia years ago, although it appears the Station V3 article has since been deleted.

  6. Winterbay says:

I do think it was the monloith add, or some other add via project wonderful IIRC.

You’re back! Yesterday, I kept getting an “Account Suspended” message when trying to open the Station V3 page.

More on how I ended up here:
    1. The “It’s a Monolith!” ad didn’t work on me, I had seen it many times before I ended up here.
    2. I was actually linked to here via your guest strip on Book of Biff years ago but something stopped me from starting to read the strips then. I have no idea what, but it might have been something to do with the fact that (not having read the previous strips) I didn’t get his guest strip from the Book of Biff making me doubt I would get the humour as I find the Book of Biff really funny.
    3. The Ad not working just might have had something to do with the fact that I vowed to never click on an ad.
    4. I think repeated exposure to the name contributed to me clicking on it again from DUIF
    5. Despite the lack of colour and less drawing skill the early strips quickly started making me laugh and pulled me in, while your massive archive is frightening I was hooked by strip 10. I think it took me about two or three days to finish all your comics, from all 4 strips plus the bonus archive.

  9. John says:

why was your site this yesterday?
    http://stationv3.com/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi
    it keeps being this.

    • Axonite says:

The site was suspended for high CPU usage, and unfortunately it happened while I was at work, and I wasn’t able to properly contact tech support and get the problem fixed until I was at home later in the day.

  10. […] Your ad could be here, right now. « A Poll […]
